Magnetostatic Mode and Cross-Field Electron Transport

Physical Review Letters, 1978
A zero-frequency magnetostatic mode is shown to exist in a magnetized plasma. This mode resembles the two-dimensional electrostatic convective-cell mode in many ways. Electron cross-field test-particle diffusion due to thermally excited magnetostatic modes exhibits the Bohm-like $\frac{T}{B}$ behavior.

Gyrotron interaction simulations with tapered magnetostatic field

35th International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter, and Terahertz Waves, 2010
We investigate the interaction of the electron beam with the RF wave in a gyrotron, in the presence of an axially tapered magnetic field. The simulation results of three interaction codes are compared and the different modelings are discussed.

A magnetostatic sunspot model with ?twisted? field

Solar Physics, 1971
It is shown that the internal structure of sunspots is affected only to a small degree by the presence of the azimuthal component of the sunspot magnetic field. The magnetostatic theory of sunspots developed by Schluter and Temesvary (1958) is extended to include such an effect.

Magnetostatic field computation by finite element formulation

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1976
Recent years have witnessed considerable research activity in the application of digital-computer methods for the determination of the electro-magnetic fields in electrical machinery through the solution of Maxwell's equations, while taking full account of the magnetic saturation.

Magnetostatic Fields at an Iron-Air Boundary

American Journal of Physics, 1961
It is often stated that the magnetic field in the vicinity of a body of infinite permeability (hereafter called iron) is perpendicular to the boundary surface. This property is not always true. The present analysis presents a criterion which allows one to predict whether the perpendicularity condition is valid or not. The boundary-value problem for the

Charged Particle Motion in Nonuniform Magnetostatic Fields

1986
When the fields are spatially nonuniform, or when they vary with time, the integration of the equation of motion (2.1.1) (Eq. 1.1 in Chapter 2) can be a mathematical problem of great difficulty. In this case, since the equation of motion is nonlinear, the theory may become extremely involved, and rigorous analytic expressions for the charged particle ...
