In general, Maxwell's equations require that a wave of magnetic field be accompanied by a wave of electric field, and vice versa. In magnetic media it is possible to have waves of magnetization with negligible electric field. We discuss an example of this based on ferromagnetic spin waves.

Coupling of Microstrip Lines Exciting the Magnetostatic Surface Waves
-The coupling of microstrip lines which excite the magnetostatic surface waves is analyzed. The asymmetric excitation of microstrip line and the nonreciprocal propagation characteristic of the magnetostatic surface waves are considered.

Spin Waves in an Arbitrary Ferromagnetic Nanosystem with a Translational Symmetry. Nanotube with a Round Cross-section. Nanotube with an Elliptic Cross-section [PDF]
In the paper, spin waves in an arbitrary translational-symmetry composite nanosystem containing an “easy axis” ferromagnet are studied. For such a system, equation for the magnetic potential in magnetostatic approximation is obtained taking into account ...

Attenuation of Magnetostatic Surface Waves in a Superconductor-Ferrite Structure
A theoretical study of the propagation of the magnetostic surface waves (WSSW) in a layered structure consisting of a gyromagnetic yttirum iron garnet (YIG) film bounded by a YBa2Cu3O7−x superconductor cover is presented.

Perpendicularly magnetized YIG-film resonators and waveguides with high operating power
We propose a novel technique for building YIG film-based resonators and waveguides for high power operating microwave devices. Our approach is based on the effect of total internal reflection (TIR) at the interface between the non-metalized and metalized

Magnetostatic surface waves propagation at the interface between ferrite and MTMs parallel plate waveguide structure [PDF]
Accepted 10/6/2013 Abstract: This work considers magnetostatic surface waves propagation in parallel structure composed of ferrite film bounded from below by metamaterial (MTM) placed on metal substrate and from top by air. The Maxwell equations are used

Application of ferrite-garnet epitaxial structures in ultra-high-frequency electronics
Single-crystal iron-yttrium garnet (IYG) films with thicknesses ranging from a few micrometers to 92 μm were grown using the liquid-phase epitaxy method. Three methods of etching FeYG films were used to fabricate devices based on magnetostatic waves: ion
