High-speed 100 MHz strain monitor using fiber Bragg grating and optical filter for magnetostriction measurements under ultrahigh magnetic fields. [PDF]

open access: yesReview of Scientific Instruments, 2017
A high-speed 100 MHz strain monitor using a fiber Bragg grating, an optical filter, and a mode-locked optical fiber laser has been devised, whose resolution is ΔL/L∼10-4.

Hybrid Inverters With Dual Switching Frequencies for Switched Reluctance Motors

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
A hybrid dual‐switching‐frequency inverter for SRMs is proposed, combining SiC and IGBT devices based on rotor inductance. The method enables accurate current tracking with simple hysteresis control, significantly reducing torque ripple, vibration, and acoustic noise while cutting inverter cost compared to full‐SiC solutions.

Magnetostrictive and magnetic effects in Fe-27%Co laminations

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
The present paper deals with the characterization of the magnetostriction of the Fe-27%Co alloy. When this alloy is annealed in the ferritic domain (between 700°C and 940°C) and submitted to a slow cooling, it exhibits a low and isotropic ...

Three‐Dimensional Optical Characterization of Magnetostrictive Deformation in Magnomechanical Systems

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
An optical approach is proposed for real‐time and high‐precision detection of the magnetostrictive deformation of an yttrium‐iron‐garnet sphere in three dimensions, based on the deformation induced spatial high‐order modes of the scattered field, postselection, and balanced homodyne detection.

Sign-changed-magnetostriction effect of morphotropic phase boundary in pseudobinary DyCo2−DyFe2 Laves compounds

open access: yesPHYSICAL REVIEW MATERIALS, 2019
The morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) has recently attracted considerable interest in a number of pseu-dobinary RT 2 ( R is rare earth; T is a 3d-transition metal) Laves phase compounds for achieving enhanced large magnetostriction or near zero ...

Self‐Driven Hybrid Piezomagnetic–Iontronic Mechanoreceptors for Bimodal SA/RA Perception and Tactile Synthesis

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A bimodal mechanoreceptor, integrating a piezomagnetic elastomer and an ion gel, simultaneously and independently transduces external mechanical stimuli into independent slow‐adapting signals for static pressure and rapid‐adapting signals for dynamic vibration.

Measurement and analysis of magnetostriction of nanocrystalline alloy laminations under medium-frequency excitation

open access: yesAIP Advances
Nanocrystalline alloys, widely used as core materials of medium-frequency transformers, require accurate measurement of their magnetostriction to calculate the core vibration and noise during the transformer design phase.
