In this paper we introduce the persistent magnitude, a new numerical invariant of (sufficiently nice) graded persistence modules. It is a weighted and signed count of the bars of the persistence module, in which a bar of the form $[a,b)$ in degree $d$ is counted with weight $(e^{-a}-e^{-b})$ and sign $(-1)^d$.

A simple tool for assessing the completeness in apparent magnitude of magnitude-redshift samples [PDF]
A new tool is proposed for finding out the completeness limit in apparent magnitude of a magnitude-redshift sample. The technique, closely related to the statistical test proposed by Efron & Petrosian (1992), presents a real improvement compared to ...

Multiple magnitudes and their cleverness
Magnitude is a measure of the size of an earthquake. In practical work such as seismic activity analysis, people usually think that an earthquake has only one magnitude. Many people will have such doubts:why use multiple magnitudes?

Konversi Empiris Summary Magnitude, Local Magnitude, Body-Wave Magnitude, Surface Magnitude, dan Moment Magnitude Menggunakan Data Gempabumi 1922-2020 di Nusa Tenggara Barat [PDF]
The existence of magnitude type variation from existing earthquake catalogue sources show that uniforming process is necessary. Beside that these type of magnitude will saturates in certain value, which are different with moment magnitude (Mw) which is not saturated and can describe earthquake process better.

Clustering, Hierarchical Organization, and the Topography of Abstract and Concrete Nouns
The empirical study of language has historically relied heavily upon concrete word stimuli. By definition, concrete words evoke salient perceptual associations that fit well within feature-based, sensorimotor models of word meaning.
