Summary The clinical application of spatial magnitude (SM) recording, using a specially constructed SM computer, is presented. The method allows routine recording of X, Y, Z and SM vectors and has been applied with success in 45 out of 50 patients. The failures have occurred in cases with atrial fibrillation or high heart rates.

Intelligent anti‐windup for systems with input magnitude saturation

The paper addresses the global asymptotic stabilization of linear continuous-time systems with saturating actuators, subject to constant disturbances. It is proved that this task can be solved by means of either simple error integrators or a so called ``intelligent integrator'', which is a linear system with a particular saturating control law.
