The cultivar Magnolia Xiaoxuan is named after a Chinese girl’s name that refers to a short height and beautiful flowers. The lateral branches of M. ‘Xiaoxuan’ begin to occur at the same time the main branches sprout, the characteristics of which are completely different from other taxa of Magnolia subgenus Yulania.
