Cover Crops as Nature‐Based Climate Solutions in the Midwestern US: Potential Benefits, Knowledge Gaps, and Opportunities for Transdisciplinary Work

open access: yesEarth's Future, Volume 14, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Less than 6% of US farmlands are cover cropped, an on‐farm management practice with potential to sequester carbon and provide environmental co‐benefits (e.g., improved soil health and water quality). Despite their promise as a nature‐based climate solution that can enhance soil carbon storage, cover crops remain underutilized, in part due to ...

Partition Border Tuning and Chattering Mitigation for DC–DC Series Resonant Converters: A Stability‐Oriented Approach

open access: yesIET Circuits, Devices &Systems, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Typical resonant converter controllers are based on linearised averaged models, which have significant modelling errors when there are wide fluctuations in the input voltage, load and reference voltages. In this article, a piecewise affine (PWA) switching surface with active border tuning of affine sections, called the Partition Border Tuning (PBT ...

Enhanced Modelling and Analysis of Cyber‐Physical System Security Against DoS Attacks Using Generalised Stochastic Petri Nets

open access: yesIET Cyber-Physical Systems: Theory &Applications, Volume 11, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper proposes a new framework for the analysis of cyber‐physical system security against denial‐of‐service (DoS) attacks using generalised stochastic Petri nets. The model incorporates immediate and timed transitions, thus mapping both continuous operations of cyber‐physical system and discrete‐event natures of cyber threats.

Decision‐Making Method for Sectionalizing of Parallel Restoration After a Blackout

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission &Distribution, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
Parallel restoration is used to bring the power grid back online after a blackout. The initial step involves sectionalizing the system, which is carried out by six key criteria. The AHP is used for the first time to determine the optimal sectionalizing strategy.

A Feasibility Study to Practically Implement a High‐Performance Circularly Polarised Antenna Array for Point‐to‐Point Wireless Communication

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas &Propagation, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This research introduced a novel high‐gain low‐profile 4 × 4 microstrip patch array antenna with dual circular polarisation (CP) capabilities. The key innovation lies in the integration of two compact and symmetrical 1‐to‐4 microstrip power divider networks, enabling the antenna to operate in either left‐hand circular polarisation (LHCP) or right‐hand ...

Complications After Childbirth‐Related Perineal Trauma up to Six‐Weeks Postpartum: A Prospective Cohort Study

open access: yesBJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics &Gynaecology, Volume 133, Issue 2, Page 274-282, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective To determine the prevalence of perineal wound infection after childbirth‐related perineal trauma up to 6 weeks postpartum. Design Prospective, multi‐centre cohort study. Setting Fifty‐one UK NHS maternity services. Population There were 2021 women who consented to take part and 1213 women who completed their 6‐week questionnaire ...
