Vocal Fold Atrophy in Patients With Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias

This is the first study to quantify vocal fold atrophy in patients with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD) using endoscopic imaging. Compared with age‐matched controls, AD/ADRD patients showed significantly greater vocal fold bowing and reduced mucosal wave amplitude, while normalized glottal gap area did not differ.
