Failure of a Main Landing Gear on a Light Airplane
2019Abstract Initial investigation showed that a landing gear failure was the result of a hard landing with no evidence of contributory factors. The objective of reexamination was to determine whether there was any evidence of metallurgical failure.

Investigation of a Boeing 747 wing main landing gear trunnion failure
Engineering Failure Analysis, 2013Abstract A loud noise was heard from the vicinity of the port wing landing gear during pushback of a Boeing 747-300 from the terminal at Sydney (Australia) airport. Inspection showed that one of the wing landing gear trunnion fork assemblies had failed. Detailed investigation revealed that the trunnion had failed by fatigue cracking.

Fatigue Fracture of a C130 Aircraft Main Landing Gear Wheel Flange
1992Abstract A piece of wheel flange separated from the main landing gear wheel of a C130 aircraft as it taxied on a runway. The wheel was a 2014-T61 aluminum alloy forging and had been in service nearly 20 years. Fractographic evidence indicated that the initial crack growth was caused by high-cycle fatigue.
