Influence of Thermal Cycling on Friction, Wear, and Damage Evolution of Fused Deposition Modeling of 3D‐Printed Glass Fiber Reinforced Polylactic Acid Composites

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of the experimental procedure of the specimens. ABSTRACT This research work investigated the effect of the cyclic thermo‐hygrometric aging regime between −20°C and +40°C with 0–400 cycles on the reciprocating tribological properties of fused deposition modeling (FDM) printed polylactic acid (PLA) and the same material reinforced ...

Increasing urban flash flood risk attributable to both climate and development

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
A new event impact attribution methodology that combines convection‐permitting climate model data with flood inundation modelling was used for a five‐hour flash‐flooding event in the suburbs of Leeds in 2014. The results show increased urban flood extent due to both climate change (+16%) and increased urbanisation (+29%).

Analysis of Global Sensitivity of Landing Variables on Landing Loads and Extreme Values of the Loads in Carrier-Based Aircrafts

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2018
When a carrier-based aircraft is in arrested landing on deck, the impact loads on landing gears and airframe are closely related to landing states. The distribution and extreme values of the landing loads obtained during life-cycle analysis provide an ...

Circulant Matrix‐Based Box–Behnken Designs With Economic Run Sizes

open access: yesQuality and Reliability Engineering International, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We introduce Circulant Matrix‐Based Box–Behnken Designs (CBBDs), a new class of three‐level, second‐order response surface designs constructed using circulant matrix structures. These designs satisfy an enhanced orthogonal minimally aliased (OMA∗${\rm OMA}^*$) property: they retain the classical OMA property—where main effects are orthogonal ...

Reliability analysis of landing gear operation based on improved support vector machine-based decomposed-coordinated

open access: yesXibei Gongye Daxue Xuebao
An improved support vector machine-based decomposed-coordinated (ISVM-DC) is proposed to improve the accuracy and efficiency of landing gear operation reliability analysis.

Control System for the Navigation of the Agricultural Robots: A Review

open access: yesJournal of Field Robotics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Control systems for the navigation of autonomous agricultural robots—particularly those operating in uneven terrain and in the presence of static or dynamic obstacles—have advanced considerably in recent years. As conventional machinery evolves toward increasingly automated systems, the design of reliable navigation controllers has become ...

Actuation Strategies for Underwater Jet‐Propelled Soft Robots

open access: yesJournal of Field Robotics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This review article examines jet‐propulsion mechanisms in underwater soft robotic systems, focusing exclusively on physically fabricated and experimentally validated robots. Covering research published from 2013 to 2025, this study classifies and evaluates jet‐propulsion robots based on their actuation mechanisms.
