Consideration of Maintenance in Wine Fermentation Modeling
We show that a simple model with a maintenance term can satisfactorily reproduce the simulations of several existing models of wine fermentation from the literature, as well as experimental data. The maintenance describes a consumption of the nitrogen that is not entirely converted into biomass.

ABSTRACT Background Embryonal tumors comprise the majority of malignant central nervous system (CNS) neoplasms diagnosed in children under 3 years of age. Compared with their counterparts in older children, these tumors exhibit distinct molecular biology and a more aggressive clinical phenotype, while their management is complicated by the heightened ...

A MODEL FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF OLD AIRCRAFT
This paper presents an approach to the development of condition-based maintenance of aircraft to improve aircraft maintenance in the limits and conditions of small countries and in accordance with global technological achievements. For the aircraft that were under a limited lifespan maintenance concept, a new condition-based maintenance model is ...

Hidden markov models in reliability and maintenance
Although the hidden Markov models (HMM) are very popular in many applied areas their use in reliabil- ity engineering is limited. Problems such as the selection of the HMM model by choosing the appropriate number of states, or problems of prediction of failures have not been widely covered in the literature. This paper is concerned with the use of HMMs

ABSTRACT Background Pediatric thromboembolism is increasingly encountered in critical care. Systemic thrombolysis with tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) facilitates vessel or valve patency, yet pediatric‐specific protocols remain undefined, and safety concerns persist. Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of a tailored, prolonged systemic tPA

Global Efforts to Reduce Paediatric Cancer Care Disparities in Radiotherapy: A Decade Change
ABSTRACT Background We present an update on the status, needs and challenges faced by paediatric imaging and radiotherapy (RT) programmes globally after a previous survey conducted by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) 10 years prior. Methods We developed and distributed a 121‐question survey to radiation oncologists, medical physicists and ...
