A Real-Time Maintenance Policy for Multi-Stage Manufacturing Systems Considering Imperfect Maintenance Effects

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Machines are subject to deterioration due to usage and aging. Once one machine fails, maintenance action has to be imposed in order to resume its operation. In practice, maintenance actions are not always able to restore the machine as new.

Defining Roles in Pediatric Palliative Care: Perspectives From Oncology and Palliative Care Teams

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Early integration of pediatric palliative care (PPC) is associated with improved symptom management, quality of life, and healthcare utilization for children with cancer. Despite this, variation persists in how PPC is understood, operationalized, and integrated within pediatric oncology programs. In particular, ambiguity surrounding

Really Ageing Systems Undergoing a Discrete Maintenance Optimization

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
In general, a complex system is composed of different components that are usually subject to a maintenance policy. We take into account systems containing components that are under both preventive and corrective maintenance.

Blinatumomab Utilization in Pediatric B‐Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia: Experience From the Mountain West

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Blinatumomab is a bispecific T‐cell engager approved for the treatment of pediatric B‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B‐ALL). Outpatient home infusion reduces hospitalization burden and optimizes resource utilization, but is logistically challenging.

Jointly Production and Correlated Maintenance Optimization for Parallel Leased Machines

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2017
This paper deals with a preventive maintenance strategy optimization correlated to production for a manufacturing system made by several parallel machines under lease contract. In order to minimize the total cost of production and maintenance by reducing

Creating and Sustaining a Maintenance Strategy: A Practical Guide [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Manufacturing companies should create maintenance strategy and link it to the manufacturing and business goals but recent research in the North East of England suggested that few companies do this. It is unclear why this inertia existed but it could have

Serological Benefit of SARS‐CoV‐2 Vaccination Relative to Infection in Children With Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) are at risk of severe outcomes from SARS‐CoV‐2 (SCV2). In the post‐pandemic context, where most children have been infected with SCV2, there are limited data on whether vaccination remains beneficial in children with ALL.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.
