LIN28B Promotes Cancer Cell Dissemination and Angiogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Children diagnosed with high‐risk neuroblastoma have a 5‐year event‐free survival rate of less than 50% and poor outcomes after recurrence. Deregulation of the LIN28B oncogene can be addressed in these patients. Upregulation of LIN28B is shown to support the metastatic cascade.

Comparison of selected maize hybrids for feed production [PDF]

open access: yesJournal on Processing and Energy in Agriculture, 2015
The objectives of this study were to investigate chemical composition and in   vitro dry matter digestibility (IVDMD) as well as to determine correlations   between some important quality parameters of the maize hybrids developed for   silage preparation

Does Land Use Patterns Matter for Bt-Maize: The Case of Maize Farming System in Kenya [PDF]

open access: yes
Population pressures and the need to optimize the use of limited available land has led to increasing cropping affluence levels within the maize agro-ecologies in Kenya, and a shift from large to smallholder intensification and multiple cropping patterns.

RRP9 Promotes Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma Progression through E2F1 Transcriptional Regulation of CDK1

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
The study reveals that RRP9 is abnormally highly expressed in ESCC tissues and is closely associated with poor prognosis in patients. Furthermore, it is found that RRP9 promotes ESCC progression through enhancing the E2F1‐mediated transcriptional regulation of CDK1.

Metabolomic and Proteomic Analysis of Maize Embryonic Callus induced from immature embryo

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
The low ratio of embryonic callus (EC) induction has inhibited the rapid development of maize genetic engineering. Still, little is known to explain the genotype-dependence of EC induction.

Enhancing Corrosion Resistance and Mechanical Strength of 3D‐Printed Iron Polylactic Acid for Marine Applications via Laser Surface Texturing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Laser surface texturing significantly improves the corrosion resistance and mechanical strength of 3D‐printed iron polylactic acid (Ir‐PLA) for marine applications. Optimal laser parameters reduce corrosion by 80% and enhance tensile strength by 25% and ductility by 15%.

The Effects of Government Maize Marketing Policies on Maize Market Prices in Kenya [PDF]

open access: yes
The Government of Kenya pursues maize marketing policy objectives through the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) which procures and sells maize at administratively determined prices, and stores maize as a contingency against future shortages.

Graphene–Catechol Dental Sealant: Antibacterial and Mechanical Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents dental sealants made with graphene and L‐DOPA‐modified graphene. L‐DOPA enhances graphene dispersion, improving sealant properties. The material shows antibacterial activity against S. mutans and L. casei, along with high strength and elasticity.
