Sex-Related Color Patterns in Elytral Vittae of \u3ci\u3eDiabrotica Virgifera Virgifera\u3c/i\u3e (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We evaluated the color patterns of elytral vittae by sex in adults of Diabrotica virgifera virgifera leConte. Our study examined \u3e1000 beetles taken from a field population, a laboratory colony, and a reference collection containing 712 specimens from

Inhibition of CDK9 enhances AML cell death induced by combined venetoclax and azacitidine

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The CDK9 inhibitor AZD4573 downregulates c‐MYC and MCL‐1 to induce death of cytarabine (AraC)‐resistant AML cells. This enhances VEN + AZA‐induced cell death significantly more than any combination of two of the three drugs in AraC‐resistant AML cells.

Effect of Lodging on Evapotranspiration of Summer Maize at Milk Ripening Stage

open access: yesGuan'gai paishui xuebao, 2022
【Objective】 Strong winds in summer often result in lodging stress to summer maize in central China. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate experimentally how the lodging affects evapotranspiration from a maize field.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Changes of Weight and in-Kernel Content Values of Maize Hybrids (Occitan, Colomba, DK-471) as a Result of Damaging dy European Corn Borer. Kukorica hibridek (Occitan, Colomba, DK-471) súly- és beltartalmi érték változása a kukoricamoly (Ostrinia nubilalis Hbn.) károsítása következtében. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

Generalizability of a Random Forest-based model of maize lodging built with satellite image data and its application to monitoring and evaluating maize lodging risks

open access: yes, 2023
Lodging is a common problem in maize production that seriously impacts yield, quality, and the capacity for mechanical harvesting. Evaluation of site-specific lodging risks requires establishment of a method for multi-year monitoring. In this study, spectral images collected by the Sentinel-2 satellite were processed to obtain three types of data: gray-
