Comparison of Mating Behavior and Copulation in Male Morphotypes of the Spider Crab Libinia spinosa (Brachyura: Majoidea: Epialtidae) [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Crustacean Biology, 2012
The mating behavior of the spider crab Libinia spinosa Milne Edwards 1834 was studied in the laboratory. Two male morphotypes as morphometrically immature (MI) with small chelae and morphometrically mature (MM) with large chelae were used in non competitive and competitive mating trials.

Nutritional vulnerability in zoeal stages of the yellowline arrow crab Stenorhynchus seticornis (Brachyura: Majoidea)

open access: yesMarine and Freshwater Research, 2018
Knowledge of the critical points in larval stages is essential to evaluate the physiological state of the larvae in their natural environment. This study investigated the nutritional vulnerability index (NVI) of the first (ZI) and second (ZII) zoeal stages of Stenorhynchus seticornis. Zoeae were assigned to two experiments: (1) point of no return (PNR),

Complete larval development ofPyromaia tuberculata(Crustacea: Decapoda: Majoidea: Inachoididae)

open access: yesAnimal Cells and Systems, 2010
Abstract The introduced spider crab Pyromaia tuberculata was collected from Korea in 2005 and it was ovigerous. After hatching, larvae were reared in the laboratory at 20°C. The larval stage of the species consists of two zoeal and one megalopal stages. The larvae of the Korean species differ somewhat from those from New Zealand described by Webber and
