Opinion dynamics in a three-choice system

open access: yes, 2005
We generalize Galam's model of opinion spreading by introducing three competing choices. At each update, the population is randomly divided in groups of three agents, whose members adopt the opinion of the local majority.

On the $h$-majority dynamics with many opinions

open access: yes
We present the first upper bound on the convergence time to consensus of the well-known $h$-majority dynamics with $k$ opinions, in the synchronous setting, for $h$ and $k$ that are both non-constant values. We suppose that, at the beginning of the process, there is some initial additive bias towards some plurality opinion, that is, there is an opinion

The dynamics of public opinion under majority rules [PDF]

open access: yesReview of Economic Design, 2002
The authors introduce a simple stochastic model of public opinion formation to explain the support for one (out of two) issue. They show that the joint effect of local (neighbourhood) interaction and a tendency to agree with the opinion held by the majority can explain the creation of large homogeneous areas.

Majority-vote dynamics on multiplex networks with two layers

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2019

The dynamics of public opinion under majority rules

open access: yes, 2001
This note explains the process of public opinion formation via a locally interactive, space-time analysis. The model we use is a special case of the general framework for modelling social interaction proposed in Blume and Durlauf (2001).
