Rapid screening of staphylokinase protein variants using an unpurified cell‐free expression system
An unpurified cell‐free protein synthesis (CFPS) platform enables rapid functional screening of staphylokinase variants. Direct plasminogen‐activation assays performed in microplate format provide real‐time activity readouts, allowing rapid identification and ranking of variants with improved or reduced fibrinolytic activity without protein ...

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

This paper reveals how human lactoferrin–albumin fusion (hLF‐HSA) potently suppresses lung adenocarcinoma cell migration. hLF‐HSA upregulates NHE7, leading to Golgi alkalization, disruption of the Golgi secretome, downregulation of MMP1, and reversal of EMT. These findings suggest a novel Golgi‐targeting strategy to suppress cancer cell migration.

Retaining majors through the introductory sequence
Proceedings of the 38th SIGCSE technical symposium on Computer science education, 2007Retention is an important issue for Computer Science Departments. In many cases students leave the major due to frustrations with programming in the complex languages often used in CS1 and CS2 or because they do not understand that computer science is much more than programming.

Power Majorization and Majorization of Sequences
Results in Mathematics, 1988Let \(x,y\in R^ n_+\) be such that \(x_ 1\geq...\geq x_ n\), \(y_ 1\geq...\geq y_ n\) and \(\sum x_ i=\sum y_ i.\) We say that x is power majorized by y if \(\sum x^ p_ i\leq \sum y^ p_ i\) for all real \(p\not\in [0,1]\) and \(\sum x^ p_ i\geq \sum y^ p_ i\) for \(p\in [0,1]\). Let \(\phi\) : [0,\(\infty)\to R\) be a continuous function.

Sequence microheterogeneity of parvalbumin, the major fish allergen
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Proteins and Proteomics, 2013The microheterogeneity of amino acid sequence observed in various allergens may affect immune response, but incidence of sequence microheterogeneity in allergens and its relation to their allergenicity are unclear. The occurrence of sequence microheterogeneity in major fish allergen, parvalbumin (PA), has been explored using bioinformatics approaches ...

Determination of mouse major asialoglycoprotein receptor cDNA sequence
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Gene Structure and Expression, 1993Hepatic lectins (asialoglycoprotein receptors) specifically recognize galactose-terminated glycoproteins and mediate endocytosis of these molecules. We now report the cloning and sequence of a cDNA encoding murine asialoglycoprotein receptor. It shows high homology with rat and human major receptor forms designated RHL-1 and HHL-1, respectively.

Majorizing Sequences for Nonlinear Fredholm–Hammerstein Integral Equations
Studies in Applied Mathematics, 2017AbstractWe use the method of majorizing sequences to study the applicability of Newton's method to solve nonlinear Fredholm–Hammerstein integral equations. For this, we use center convergence conditions on points different from the starting point of Newton's method, which is the point usually used by other authors until now when center conditions are ...
