2021The present thesis examines the hagiographical work of Makarios Makres, a 15th-century hieromonk who also became abbot of the Monastery of Pantocrator in Constantinople. First, there is a survey of the personality and life of the writer, so that the historical, grammatological and theological framework for the works under examination is provided.
