Medicine for the Material World

open access: yesArchaeometry, Volume 68, Issue 3, Page 434-439, June 2026.
ABSTRACT It is clear that many of the inorganic materials of antiquity have been used both as medicines for human ills and also as agents in technological processes. This paper speculates that there might have been a stronger link between these two functions in the past, based on the concept of “active agents”—materials that are efficacious at curing ...

Adsorption of Malachite Green Dye by Magnetic Carboxymethyl Chitosan

open access: yesJurnal Rekayasa Kimia & Lingkungan
Malachite green dye is widely used in the textile industry. Wastewater contaminated with malachite green dye threatens aquatic life and human health. Therefore, adsorption is needed in the dye waste treatment process.

Jet Mixer Precipitation vs. Conventional Precipitation for a Cu/ZnO/MgO MeOH Catalysts

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, Volume 652, Issue 7, 6 May 2026.
Separating Precipitation and Aging. A jet mixer allows very fast precipitation of the catalyst precursor (blue), which enables a clear separation of precipitation and aging (aged precursor: green). A characteristic drop in the pH value shows the onset of crystallization during aging. A comparison with a conventionally produced system showed superiority

Removal of malachite green dye from aqueous solution with adsorption technique using Limonia acidissima (wood apple) shell as low cost adsorbent

open access: yes, 2017
In the present study, the use of low-cost, abundantly available, highly efficient and eco-friendly adsorbent wood apple shell (WAS) has been reported as an alternative to the current expensive methods of removing of malachite green (MG) dye from aqueous ...

Development and Structural Characterization of UTE‐156, a Covalent Inhibitor of the VCP/p97 AAA+ ATPase

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
The AAA+ ATPase Valosin‐containing protein (VCP/p97) regulates protein homeostasis by unfolding ubiquitinated substrates. Here, we describe UTE‐156, a novel irreversible covalent inhibitor that modifies Cys522 in the D2 ATPase motor domain. Although its pharmacochemical limitations preclude immediate therapeutic use, UTE‐156 serves as a valuable ...

One‐Step Glycoengineering of NK Cells With High‐Affinity Siglec Ligands for Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 26, 8 May 2026.
This study develops an engineered NmCSS enzyme with improved activity for bulky group modified sialic acids, enabling efficient synthesis of structurally diverse sialoside analogs in a single step. Glycan microarray screening identified Siglec high‐affinity ligands, which were incorporated onto natural killer (NK) cells via a one‐pot enzymatic system ...

Study on the Performance of Coal Gangue-Loaded Hydroxyapatite (CG@HAP) for the Adsorption of Malachite Green

open access: yesMolecules
In response to the issues of dye wastewater pollution and coal gangue accumulation, a novel adsorbent, coal gangue-loaded hydroxyapatite (CG@HAP) was prepared using coal gangue as the raw material for the adsorption of malachite green dye wastewater ...

Sustainable Synthesis of P‐Doped Carbon Nitride From Fertilizer Sources for Enhanced Photocatalysis

open access: yesChemPhotoChem, Volume 10, Issue 5, May 2026.
A new P‐doped carbon nitride was synthesized from the combination of thiourea and (NH4)2HPO4 by a straightforward and mild approach. The final material shows a fourfold higher specific surface area and excellent suppression of charge carrier recombination.
