Abstract Objective Birth asphyxia is one of the leading causes of death for neonates worldwide. Lack of an objective cost effective test to predict poor newborn outcomes at birth affects the ability to respond appropriately. Evaluation of Different Methods of Haemoglobin Estimation Among Malaria‐Infected Patients
This study compared haemoglobin concentrations measured with an automated Full Blood Count (Sysmex XN‐550) analyzer, the cyanmethemoglobin method, and a portable Hb meter (HemoCue Hb 301) in 100 patients with malaria. The three methods showed good agreement and broadly comparable measurements, though small systematic differences were observed.

Phenotypic and Genotypic Analysis of Two Rare Cases of ‐‐SEA/‐α4.3 HbH Disease
We report two unrelated adult patients with rare deletional HbH disease (genotype ‐‐SEA/‐α4.3). This novel 4.3 kb deletion covering the HBA1 gene is accompanied by X‐Y‐Z segment recombination, which was identified by CycloneSEQ long‐read nanopore sequencing.
