MALDI-TOF MS analysis of plant proanthocyanidins

Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, 2010
Proanthocyanidins or condensed tannins are among the most abundant polyphenols compounds in our diet and may play a key role in the prevention of cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases and cancer. These antioxidants are widely distributed in the plant kingdom both in food plants and in non-food plants.

Challenges in biomarker discovery with MALDI-TOF MS

Clinica Chimica Acta, 2016
MALDI-TOF MS technique is commonly used in system biology and clinical studies to search for new potential markers associated with pathological conditions. Despite numerous concerns regarding a sample preparation or processing of complex data, this strategy is still recognized as a popular tool and its awareness has risen in the proteomic community ...

Synthesis and characterization by MALDI‐TOF MS of polycyclic siloxanes derived from p‐substituted novolac resins by MALDI‐TOF MS

Journal of Polymer Science Part A: Polymer Chemistry, 1998
Novel polycyclic siloxane resins were prepared from phenol-formaldehyde novolac type resins by reacting them with dialkyl or diaryl dichlorosilanes under anhydrous and high dilution conditions. The formation of polycyclic species was confirmed by the detection of absolute masses by MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry.

The application of MALDI-TOF MS for dermatophyte identification.

Annals of parasitology, 2014
Dermatophytes are keratinolytic fungi responsible for a wide variety of diseases of the skin, nails and hair of mammals. Their identification is often complicated, labor-intensive and time consuming due to the high degree of intra-species morphological similarity, and also requires scientific knowledge and practice.

Analysis of Protein Glycation Products by MALDI‐TOF/MS

Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 2005
Abstract: Matrix‐assisted laser desorption ionization‐mass spectrometry with time‐of‐flight detection (MALDI‐TOF/MS) is a promising tool to analyze advanced glycation end product (AGE)‐modified proteins. The combination of soft ionization (MALDI) with time‐of‐flight mass detection allows analysis of peptides and proteins of a molecular mass up to 300 ...

Quantitative determination of Piroxicam by TLC–MALDI TOF MS

Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, 2004
A quantitative thin-layer chromatography (TLC)-matrix-assisted laser desorption (MALDI) TOF mass spectrometry (MS) method for the determination of Piroxicam has been developed. Following preliminary experiments three different approaches to the incorporation of the internal standard (Tenoxicam) into the TLC plates were investigated.

MALDI-TOF MS Quantification of Coccidiostats in Poultry Feeds

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2000
Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) is a relatively new technique that is having a great impact on analyses. This study is the first to demonstrate the use of linear MALDI-TOF MS to identify and quantify coccidiostats in poultry feeds.
