Musculature of the Male Abdominal Segments and Terminalia of Spilogona Schnabl, 1911 (Diptera, Muscidae: Coenosiinae)

Entomological Review, 2020
The abdominal and pregenital segments and genitalia were studied in males of Spilogona Schnabl, 1911: S. tundrae (Schnabl, 1915), S. sanctipauli (Malloch, 1921), and S. zaitzevi (Schnabl, 1915) (Muscidae, Coenosiinae). The examined species are very similar in the structure of the sclerites and muscles of their terminal segments, and more strongly ...

Musculature of the male terminalia in geometrid moths of the subfamily Larentiinae (Lepidoptera, Geometridae)

Entomological Review, 2011
The morphology of the male terminalia of 16 species belonging to 12 tribes of Larentiinae was studied; for 12 species and 4 tribes it was done for the first time. No clear diagnosis of Larentiinae based on the features of the male genital musculature can be given since the apomorphic position of M1, M4, and M7 muscles may originate independently in ...

Comparison of the structure and musculature of male terminalia in the tribe Cidariini Duponchel (Lepidoptera: Geometridae: Larentiinae) once again throws into doubt a sister relationship with the Xanthorhoini.

Zootaxa, 2014
The structure and musculature of the male terminalia are described and illustrated in 11 genera of the tribe Cidariini (Lepidoptera, Geometridae, Larentiinae) from the Holarctic and Oriental regions. Nine genital muscles were identified: m1, m2(10), m3(2)

Alignment and homology of male terminalia in Curculionoidea and other Coleoptera

Invertebrate Systematics, 2007
Male genitalia and associated internal sclerotised plates have been long recognised in beetle taxonomy, but their relative position in the connecting membrane and the genital membrane folding patterns have never been thoroughly investigated. In this study, the structure of the genital chamber in weevils (Curculionoidea) and other Coleoptera has been ...

The structure and musculature of male terminalia in the tribe Xanthorhoini Pierce and related tribes (Lepidoptera: Geometridae: Larentiinae), with particular reference to the Palaearctic and Australian regions.

Zootaxa, 2013
The musculature of the male genitalia was reviewed for the tribe Xanthorhoini and related tribes (Lepidoptera, Geometridae, Larentiinae). The genitalia morphology of males of 11 species was discussed and illustrated, and nine paired and unpaired genital ...

Rotation of Male Terminalia in Aedes taeniorhynchus (Diptera: Culicidae) as Affected by Temperature1

Annals of the Entomological Society of America, 1961
Hourly samples of 20 male Aedes taeniorhynchus each were examined for degree of rotation of terminalia up to 48 hours after emergence at 18°, 22°, 25°, 30°, 32°. and 36°. Terminalia were ascribed to Stage I if unrotated, Stage II if rotated up to 135°, and Stage III if rotated 135° to 180°. Rotation frequently stopped between 135° and 180°.

Modifying effects of Terminalia catappa on azoxymethane-induced colon carcinogenesis in male F344 rats

European Journal of Cancer Prevention, 2005
The modifying effects of dietary administration of an herb, Terminalia catappa (TC), were investigated on rat colon carcinogenesis induced by a carcinogen azoxymethane (AOM). The number of aberrant crypt foci (ACF) and beta-catenin accumulated crypts (BCACs) in the colon, and proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) labelling index in the colonic ...
