Male terminalia variation in the rainforest dwelling Drosophila teissieri contrasts with the sperm pattern and species stability

Genetica, 2009
It is commonly recognized that speciation does not necessarily imply extensive variation between populations, and what the speciation process per se consists of still remains an unanswered question. We advocate here that the variation of male terminalia does not necessarily result in noticeable reproductive isolation.

P104. Apoptosis drives collective cell movement that is required for the morphogenesis of Drosophila male terminalia

Differentiation, 2010
During animal development, dynamic cellular behaviors, including cell movement, divisions and death, are precisely orchestrated. The execution mechanisms of complex behaviors has been mainly deciphered through the identification of conserved signaling pathways that control each cellular movement, however, how cellular behaviors regulate morphogenesis ...

On the Evolution of the Phallus and Other Male Terminalia in the Hydropsychidae with a Proposal for a New Generic Name

1981
The plesiomorphic structure of the phallus is discussed. In Cheumatopsyche and in Hydropsyche silfvenii Ulmer some plesiomorphic characteristics are probably found, whereas the apparently more simple conditions in other species of Hydropsyche are considered as the end result of an evolution.
