Telechelic polyisobutylene with unsaturated end groups and with anhydride end groups [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Anhydride terminated polyisobutylene (PIB) oligomers were synthesized in a one- or two-step process from chlorine terminated oligomers. In the one-step process, chlorine functional oligomers were just heated in the presence of maleic anhydride (MA) for ...

Dynamic Self‐Clickable Decellularized Matrix Hydrogels for Regulating Vascularity and Enhancing Muscle Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dynamic decellularized hydrogels are prepared using bovine decellularized small intestine submucosa (SIS) norbornene (dSIS‐NB). Bovine dSIS contained significant amounts of disulfide‐rich fibrillin‐I, enabling ‘self‐clickable’ thiol‐norbornene gelation and spatiotemporal tuning of hydrogel physicochemical properties.

CHEMICAL MODIFICATION OF BEECH WOOD: EFFECT ON THERMAL STABILITY

open access: yesBioResources, 2008
Beech sawdust was reacted with phthalic (PA) and maleic (MA) anhydrides for chemical modification. The influence of reaction time and anhydride amount was investigated. IR spectra gave evidence of wood esterification.

Rational, yet simple, design and synthesis of an antifreeze-protein inspired polymer for cellular cryopreservation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Antifreeze (glyco) proteins AF(G)Ps are potent ice recrystallization inhibitors, which is a desirable property to enhance cryopreservation of donor tissue/cells.

Self‐Adhesive Conductive Elastomers for Gel‐Free Biopotential Recording

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
σPOMaC, a self‐adhesive conductive citrate elastomer incorporating PEDOT:PSS and DBSA, enables gel‐free biopotential electrodes with stable conductivity and intrinsic skin adhesion. The composite exhibits low resistivity (∼ 0.02 Ω·cm), robust electrical performance during repeated use, and reliable on‐body ECG acquisition comparable to Ag/AgCl ...

Solvent-Mediated Rate Deceleration of Diels–Alder Reactions for Enhanced Selectivity: Quantum Mechanical Insights

open access: yesChemistry
Solvents can have a tremendous influence on the rate and selectivity of chemical reactions, but their effects are not always well accounted for. In the present work, density functional theory computations are used to investigate the influence of solvent ...

Excipient Emulsion–Based Delivery Systems for Enhancing Carotenoid Bioavailability: Advances in Formulation and Gastrointestinal Fate

open access: yesAgriFood: Journal of Agricultural Products for Food, EarlyView.
Excipient emulsion systems improve carotenoid solubilization, protect against degradation, and enhance gastrointestinal absorption through optimized formulation and digestion behavior. ABSTRACT Carotenoids are bioactive compounds that contribute to human health through antioxidant, provitamin A, and disease‐preventive effects.

Supercritical Degradation of Unsaturated Polyester Resin Composites Using Alcohols

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2015
Degradation of glass fibre reinforced (GFR) unsaturated polyester (UP) resin composites has been studied in this paper. The degradation was carried out using supercritical ethanol and supercritical 1-propanol and with a reaction time of 30 min.
