Malignant phyllode tumor metastatic to the duodenum
Phyllode tumor (PT) is extremely rare tumor of the breast. Distant metastasis occurs in 10%-20% of patients with malignant phyllode tumor. The most common sites of metastases are the lungs and bones. Although theoretically any organ may have metastasis, an isolated duodenum metastasis has not been documented as yet in the English-language literature ...

A total of 556 patients were included in the analyses. Most patients (88%) received primary treatment aligned with the MDT's recommendations. The highest level of concordance was seen in those with early breast cancer who were recommended to have primary surgery (94%), and the lowest in those with metastatic disease.

This article highlights the importance of understanding the imaging features and complications of fat necrosis and oil cysts to improve diagnostic accuracy and clinical management. A rational diagnostic sequence—emphasizing comparison with prior imaging, careful evaluation of morphological changes, and judicious use of biopsy—can reduce unnecessary ...

Malignant Phyllodes Tumor of the Breast: Treatment and Prognosis
Surgery remains the mainstay of the treatment in patients with malignant phyllodes tumor of the breast (MPTB); however, the extent of surgery (breast conserving surgery [BCS] versus mastectomy) and the role of adjuvant radiotherapy have been controversial. We report a single institution's experience with MPTB.

Malignant Phyllodes Tumor of the Breast [PDF]
Phyllodes tumors are very rare fibroepithelial tumors that comprise less than 1% of all solid breast lesions. They can be classified as benign, borderline, or malignant. Their appearance is very similar to fibroadenomas by radiographic and sonographic imaging modalities. Biopsy is the only proven course for a definitive diagnosis.

Molecular pathology of phyllodes tumours of the breast—much more than MED12
Phyllodes tumours can develop from fibroadenomas bearing MED12 variants by the development of pTERT alterations (“MED12 pathway”) or de novo (“MED12 independent pathway”). Grade progression is associated with increasing genetic complexity including cancer driver gene aberrations. Molecular alterations can be useful in assigning grade and distinguishing
