The Laemobothrion (Mallophaga: Laemobothriidae) Of The Falconiformes1
Journal of Medical Entomology, 1965A study of over 435 adult Laemobothrion from 74 different species of Falconiformes has revealed only 4 morphologically separable species— L. tinnunculi, L. maximum, L. vulturis, and L. glutinans. These species are redescribed and illustrated; there are 32 new synonymies.

Zufolge J. L. Peters (1934), dessen System der vorstehenden Revision zugrunde gelegt wurde, gliedert sich die Unterfamilie der Kiebitze (Vanellinae) in 19 Gattungen mit 25 Arten, von denen 20 Arten in 15 Gattungen parasitologisch untersucht werden konnten.
