A new lignan from the flowers of Hibiscus sabdariffa L. (Malvaceae)
From MeOH-soluble fraction of the flowers of Hibiscus sabdariffa (Malvaceae), one new lignan, (+)-4-O-methyl-5′-methoxy-secoisolariciresinol (1), together with four known compounds (2–5) were isolated.

A list of 35 scale insects collected from 72 ornamental plant species in Sao Carlos, Sao Paulo, Brazil is provided. Regarding host specificity, 30 scale insects were polyphagous, 4 oligophagous, and 1 monophagous.

Se presenta la sinopsis taxonómica de la familia Malvaceae para la flora de Bogotá. Malvaceae sensu lato está representada por cuatro subfamilias, 16 géneros con 19 especies y dos híbridos en el área de estudio. Las subfamilias más diversas son Malvoideae (once géneros / quince especies y un híbrido) y Grewioideae (tres géneros con una especie cada uno)

Review of larval food plant associations of the Agaristinae (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) in Australia
Abstract The Australian Agaristinae comprises a small group of predominantly diurnal moths with aposematic larvae and adults that are assumed to be unpalatable to most predators. A critical review of the larval food plants of this subfamily based on published records in the literature, together with unpublished records, is presented.
