The chemokine receptor‐like fourth extracellular loop of the apelin receptor differentially regulates apelin and elabela binding and signalling

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 183, Issue 18, Page 5641-5656, September 2026.
Abstract Background and Purpose Apelin and Elabela are endogenous ligands of the apelin receptor (apelin receptor/APJ), a GPCR involved in cardiovascular regulation and body fluid homeostasis. The human receptor contains a conserved disulfide bridge linking the N‐terminal domain to extracellular loop 3 (ECL3) via Cys19 and Cys281, forming a structural ...

Choice of recipient vessels in muscle-sparing transverse rectus abdominis myocutaneous flap breast reconstruction: A comparative study

open access: yesArchives of Plastic Surgery, 2019
Background Thoracodorsal vessels (TDVs) and internal mammary vessels (IMVs) have both been widely employed as recipient vessels for use in free muscle-sparing transverse rectus abdominis myocutaneous (MS-TRAM) flaps.

Biomimetic Vascular Scaffold with Seamless Electrospun Aligned Nanofiber Conduit and 3D‐Printed Coil Reinforcement

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 15, Issue 30, 14 August 2026.
We introduce a new fabrication method that overcomes the current limitation of tubular gap electrospinning. We successfully fabricated a seamless hollow tube with fibers aligned along the longitudinal axis in diameters as small as 300 µm, and then reinforced it using 4‐axis 3D printing.

Feasibility and Safety of Median Sternotomy Combined With Hemi‐Clamshell Incisions for the Resection of Extremely Large Tumors in the Thoracic Cavity: A Case Series

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT To evaluate the feasibility and safety of median sternotomy combined with hemi‐clamshell thoracotomy for resection of extremely large intrathoracic tumors. The perioperative data of three patients with large tumors in the thoracic cavity from January 2021 to December 2024 were collected and analyzed retrospectively, and median sternotomy ...

Exploring Cerumen as an Alternative Matrix for Drug Detection and Quantification: Method Development and Application in Clinical Samples

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, Volume 18, Issue 8, Page 1065-1075, August 2026.
An LC–MS/MS method was developed for the detection of 33 psychoactive medications in cerumen (earwax) and applied to the samples of 60 psychiatric inpatient volunteers. The findings highlighted the utility of cerumen as an innovative biospecimen in clinical toxicological analysis.
