Cement mortar composites including 1-tetradecanol@PMMA Pickering emulsion particles for thermal energy management of buildings

Chemical Engineering Journal, 2023
In this study, a poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) shell 1-tetradecanol core microencapsulated phase change material (MPCM) was produced using the Pickering emulsion technique. Characterization tests of the produced MPCMs were performed using Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, particle size distribution (PSD) analysis, differential ...

CORROSION OF MORTAR COVERINGS USED IN STRUCTURES OF MANAGEMENT EXPOSED TO SWINE AND BOVINE WASTES.

2006 Portland, Oregon, July 9-12, 2006, 2006
The objective of this research was to analyze the corrosion process of mortars, usually used in the covering of storage tanks for residues produced in livestock housing. In this way, six 40L tanks were made, covered with cement and sand mortar in 1:3, 1:4 and 1:5 proportions. These tanks were supplied with bovine and swine wastes, diluted with water.

Mathematical modeling of physico-chemical characteristics of mortar-waste composites in radioactive waste management

Progress in Nuclear Energy, 2012
An optimization of mortar (as matrix), improved with bentonite clay, used for immobilization of radionuclides 60Co, 137Cs, 85Sr and 54Mn, is presented. A relatively simple mathematical model is given, which permits minimization of leach rate and permeability and maximization of compressive strength.
