Managing the transition from bricks‐and‐mortar to clicks‐and‐mortar: a business process perspective

Knowledge and Process Management, 2004
AbstractThis paper reports from case study‐based research that investigates the impact of the transition from bricks‐and‐mortar to clicks‐and‐mortar businesses on the management of core internal business processes. It has two main aims: firstly, to identify the business models for the processes of order fulfilment and delivery used in clicks‐and‐mortar

Constructive sludge management ‐ reutilization of municipal sewage sludge in Portland cement mortars

Environmental Technology, 1994
Abstract Sludges produced by the treatment of municipal sewage wastes are becoming increasingly difficult to dispose of because the quantity of sludge is increasing due to an increase in population and sewered areas. Many sludge disposal alternatives such as agricultural use, landfilling, marine disposal and incineration, etc, have adverse ...

Modeling of physico-chemical characteristics of mortar-waste mixture in radioactive waste management

Progress in Nuclear Energy, 2015
Abstract An optimization of mortar (as matrix), improved with vermiculite clay, used for immobilization of radionuclide caesium-137 is presented. A relatively simple mathematical model is given, which permits minimization of leach rate and permeability and maximization of compressive strength. An optimal solution, based on experimental data, is given.

Cement mortar composites including 1-tetradecanol@PMMA Pickering emulsion particles for thermal energy management of buildings

Chemical Engineering Journal, 2023
In this study, a poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) shell 1-tetradecanol core microencapsulated phase change material (MPCM) was produced using the Pickering emulsion technique. Characterization tests of the produced MPCMs were performed using Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, particle size distribution (PSD) analysis, differential ...

More than bricks and mortar? The shape of housing management in Britain

Housing Policy Debate, 1995
Abstract The debate about the nature and purpose of housing management in Britain has shown frequent tensions between a narrow, property‐based approach and a broader, welfare approach. This article assesses the factors influencing the debate, particularly those relating to recent social developments and government policy changes.

CORROSION OF MORTAR COVERINGS USED IN STRUCTURES OF MANAGEMENT EXPOSED TO SWINE AND BOVINE WASTES.

2006 Portland, Oregon, July 9-12, 2006, 2006
The objective of this research was to analyze the corrosion process of mortars, usually used in the covering of storage tanks for residues produced in livestock housing. In this way, six 40L tanks were made, covered with cement and sand mortar in 1:3, 1:4 and 1:5 proportions. These tanks were supplied with bovine and swine wastes, diluted with water.

Mathematical modeling of physico-chemical characteristics of mortar-waste composites in radioactive waste management

Progress in Nuclear Energy, 2012
An optimization of mortar (as matrix), improved with bentonite clay, used for immobilization of radionuclides 60Co, 137Cs, 85Sr and 54Mn, is presented. A relatively simple mathematical model is given, which permits minimization of leach rate and permeability and maximization of compressive strength.

Mortar: Intangible Factors That Propel & Sustain Marine Ecosystem-Based Management

2017
When we began this study of marine ecosystem-based management (MEBM) initiatives, we knew that we needed to probe their structures, legal mandates, information sources, and funding. After all, we wanted to identify features that could be adopted by others trying to advance MEBM.
