Green Fuel Combustion Synthesis of CeO2 and Ag/CeO2 Nanoparticles for Photocatalytic and Antibacterial Applications

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Silver‐doped cerium oxide nanoparticles (Ag/CeO2 NPs) were synthesized using Ricinus communis seed extract as a bio‐derived fuel in a solution combustion method. The combustion reaction, carried out at 450°C with AgNO3 and (NH4)2[Ce (NO3)6] as metal precursors, produced CeO2 and Ag/CeO2 NPs.

Development of One-Part Alkali-Activated Mortar Using Foundry Waste Sand

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering
Foundry waste sand (FWS) refers to sand that is no longer useful after being utilized in metal casting processes. This sand is produced at a rate of around 0.6 tons per 1 ton of foundry industry manufactured and is typically discarded in landfills.

Eco‐Friendly Aqueous Polymeric Binders for High‐Performance Graphite Anodes: Structure–Property Insights for Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVdF) is commonly used as a binder material in the preparation of anode or cathode electrode slurries for commercial Li‐ion batteries (LIBs). High‐cost PVdF binder generally requires the use of toxic and environmentally unfriendly N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone (NMP) as a solvent for dissolution.

Microwave resonance detection method for hidden crack depth in rock and cementitious mortar

open access: yesScientific Reports
Before the rock in engineering projects such as mining, tunnel excavation, steep road construction, and oil and gas extraction undergoes failure, macroscopic and microscopic cracks will appear. The management or utilization of these cracks is inseparable

7000 Years of Aboriginal Mining at Sugarloaf Hill in the Riverland Region of South Australia

open access: yesArchaeology in Oceania, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Silcrete and chert are commonly represented in Aboriginal archaeological lithic assemblages across large parts of the southwestern Murray‐Darling Basin (MDB). In South Australia (SA), these materials were sourced from a series of quarries located along the incised course of the Murray River through the upper Riverland region.

Dual Action of Dipyridamole in Experimental Rheumatoid Arthritis: Suppression of Joint Inflammation and Upregulation of Muscle Anabolism via Adenosine and AMPK Pathways

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Rheumatoid sarcopenia, characterized by the progressive loss of skeletal muscle mass and function, is a frequent comorbidity in rheumatoid arthritis (RA), linked to prolonged, severe systemic inflammation. Purinergic signaling (adenosine, AMP, and ATP) plays a crucial role in inflammation, myogenesis, and muscle hypertrophy.

Investigating the Role of Type I Interferon Signaling on Muscle Disease Using Mouse Models

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Dysregulated type I interferon (IFN) signaling contributes to autoimmune myositis pathogenesis. We investigated the therapeutic effects of JAK inhibitors in two mouse models. We also examined how type I IFNs affect muscle vasculature. Methods Myositis was induced in major histocompatibility complex class I double transgenic ([TRE‐H‐2Kb (H ...
