High Lyso-Gb3 Plasma Levels Associated with Decreased miR-29 and miR-200 Urinary Excretion in Young Non-Albuminuric Male Patient with Classic Fabry Disease. [PDF]

open access: yesCase Rep Nephrol, 2019
Renal involvement is associated with a greater morbidity and mortality in Fabry disease. Pathological albuminuria, the first Fabry nephropathy clinical manifestation, can occur from early childhood, although histological lesions such as tubulo‐interstitial fibrosis and glomerulosclerosis are present or may precede the onset of pathological albuminuria.

Variables Associated with a Urinary MicroRNAs Excretion Profile Indicative of Renal Fibrosis in Fabry Disease Patients. [PDF]

open access: yesInt J Chronic Dis, 2019
Introduction. In advanced Fabry nephropathy stages, enzyme replacement theraphy (ERT) efficacy decreases, due to its impossibility to reverse renal fibrosis. Therefore, the finding of early kidney fibrosis biomarkers in affected patients is of interest. During renal fibrosis miR‐21, miR‐192 and miR‐433 (fibrosis promotors) are activated by transforming

Major Organic Involvement in Women with Fabry Disease in Argentina. [PDF]

open access: yesScientificWorldJournal, 2018
Fabry disease (FD) is an X‐linked lysosomal storage disorder resulting from the deficiency or absence of the alpha galactosidase A enzyme. Organic involvement in men is well known, but in women it is controversial, partly due to the random X‐chromosomes inactivation (Lyon hypothesis).

Early Renal Involvement in a Girl with Classic Fabry Disease. [PDF]

open access: yesCase Rep Nephrol, 2017
Fabry disease is an X‐linked lysosomal storage disorder resulting from the deficiency or absence of the enzyme alpha galactosidase A; this defect leads to the systemic accumulation of globotriaosylceramide and its metabolites. Organic involvement in men is well known, but in women it is controversial, mainly due to the random X‐chromosome inactivation ...

Reassessment of generic boundaries in Neotropical Chrysophylloideae (Sapotaceae): Eleven reinstated genera and narrowed circumscriptions of Chrysophyllum and Pouteria

open access: yesTAXON, Volume 72, Issue 2, Page 307-359, April 2023., 2023
Abstract Classifications of the pantropical plant family Sapotaceae based solely on morphology have historically recognized between 125 and 53 genera. Phylogenetic analyses using molecular data have repeatedly demonstrated that broad concepts of two large genera belonging to subfamily Chrysophylloideae, Chrysophyllum and Pouteria, are untenable and ...

Diversity and distribution of lacustrine diatoms along the Trans‐Mexican Volcanic Belt

open access: yesFreshwater Biology, Volume 68, Issue 3, Page 391-405, March 2023., 2023
Abstract The Trans‐Mexican Volcanic Belt is recognised as a highly biodiverse zone and we present a study of diatom diversity and species distributions in its lakes. We aimed to identify diatom taxa with the highest regional occupancy, explore diversity at a regional level, identify the main variables associated with species distributions, and present ...

Defensa comunitaria y culturas del terror: Crimen organizado y violencia de Estado en comunidades originarias de Guerrero, México

open access: yesThe Journal of Latin American and Caribbean Anthropology, Volume 27, Issue 4, Page 564-574, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Rich in raw materials, the state of Guerrero, Mexico, is one of the main enclaves of opium production, mineral extraction, and a focus for the multiplication of armed actors in Latin America, which, together with the overlapping of counterinsurgent violence in the past, post‐colonial violence and the militarization of the policies of the so ...

CRITICAL URBAN PEDAGOGY: Convites as Sites of Southern Urbanism, Solidarity Construction and Urban Learning

open access: yesInternational Journal of Urban and Regional Research, Volume 46, Issue 5, Page 822-844, September 2022., 2022
Abstract Learning from the pedagogical potentials of Southern city‐making practices is imperative to foster emancipatory urban learning settings. However, the ways in which urban learning spaces beyond professional settings operate and how Southern urbanism practices constitute new critical pedagogies are poorly understood.

From Topology Optimization to Complex Digital Architecture: A New Methodology for Architectural Morphology Generation

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, Volume 2021, Issue 1, 2021., 2021
Owing to the capacities of generating structural configuration with both reasonable mechanical properties and high material utilization, topology optimization has been widely adopted in engineering design. Although numerous architects have tried to apply topology optimization tools to assist architectural morphology design in practical projects ...
