Bayesian Geodesic Regression on Riemannian Manifolds [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Geodesic regression has been proposed for fitting the geodesic curve. However, it cannot automatically choose the dimensionality of data. In this paper, we develop a Bayesian geodesic regression model on Riemannian manifolds (BGRM) model. To avoid the overfitting problem, we add a regularization term to control the effectiveness of the model.

Keratoameloblastoma of the mandible

open access: yesEuropean Annals of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Diseases, 2017
Keratoameloblastoma is an extremely rare odontogenic tumor, as only 18 cases have been reported in the literature. The authors report a case of keratoameloblastoma in a 32-year-old woman and review the literature concerning the clinical features, radiological appearance, histopathological findings and treatment options.Keratoameloblastoma is a rare ...

Dosage‐dependent effects of FGFR2W290R mutation on craniofacial shape and cellular dynamics of the basicranial synchondroses

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Craniosynostosis is a common yet complex birth defect, characterized by premature fusion of the cranial sutures that can be syndromic or nonsyndromic. With over 180 syndromic associations, reaching genetic diagnoses and understanding variations in underlying cellular mechanisms remains a challenge.

A new Crocodyloidea from the middle Eocene of Zamora (Duero Basin, Spain)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The eusuchian crocodyliforms recorded in the Eocene levels of the Spanish Duero Basin belong to three lineages: Planocraniidae, with the species Duerosuchus piscator; Alligatoroidea, represented by several specimens of the genus Diplocynodon; and Crocodyloidea, which includes several specimens traditionally attributed to Asiatosuchus.

PDGF‐BB‐enriched collagen matrix to treat multiple gingival recessions with the tunneled coronally advanced flap

open access: yesClinical Advances in Periodontics, Volume 12, Issue 4, Page 224-232, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Background With technological advancements in reconstructive periodontology, traditional protocols for the treatment of gingival recessions (GRs) can be challenged. This manuscript presents preliminary findings of a novel minimally‐invasive approach for the regenerative treatment of multiple adjacent GR defects. Methods Two healthy adults were

Biomechanical models to simulate consequences of maxillofacial surgery [PDF]

open access: yesC. R. Biologies 325 (2002) 407-417, 2006
This paper presents the biomechanical finite element models that have been developed in the framework of the computer-assisted maxillofacial surgery. After a brief overview of the continuous elastic modelling method, two models are introduced and their use for computer-assisted applications discussed. The first model deals with orthognathic surgery and
