Predictive Value of Diagnostic Methods for TMJ Hypermobility in the Associated Clinical and Functional Features of Temporomandibular Disorders: A Regression Study

open access: yesJournal of Oral Rehabilitation, Volume 53, Issue 3, Page 673-684, March 2026.
Graphical abstract illustrating diagnostic methods of TMJ hypermobility and their predictive value for masticatory dysfunction and TMD outcomes. ABSTRACT Background Joint hypermobility (JH), particularly at the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), has been proposed as a potential risk factor for temporomandibular disorders (TMD).

Scanner‐agnostic dynamic jaw motion generation from virtual static excursive records using open‐source Python‐based artificial intelligence (AI) interpolation

open access: yesJournal of Prosthodontics, Volume 35, Issue 3, Page 407-413, March 2026.
Abstract This technique describes a scanner‐agnostic digital workflow for generating dynamic mandibular motion from static virtual interocclusal records using a custom artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm and user interface. Virtual records of mandibular positions, including maximum intercuspation, protrusion, and lateral excursions, were captured ...

Morphological and biomechanical adaptations of larval mandibles in Trichoptera (Insecta)

open access: yesPhysiological Entomology, Volume 51, Issue 1, Page 85-114, March 2026.
Mandible morphology differs between predators and grazers: predators show pointed incisors, grazers sharp edges and setae. Mechanical properties depend on cuticle tanning, not elemental reinforcement. Functional mandible types reflect feeding strategies, with predators specialized for prey capture and grazers for scraping and collecting.
