Curvature analysis of the mandibular condyle
Dentomaxillofacial Radiology, 2003To determine whether curvature analysis on high resolution CT images can be used as a tool for evaluation of mandibular condyle morphology.Curvature analysis was performed on reconstructed oblique coronal CT images of 634 normal condyles from 317 patients (144 men and 173 women; age range 4-89 years) with inner or middle ear disease.

Chip fractures of the mandibular condyle
Head & Neck Surgery, 1984AbstractFour patients suffered from trauma of the temporomandibular (TM) joints. They were examined by routine x‐ray procedures. The x‐ray films failed to demonstrate a chip fracture of the head of the mandibular condyle. A coronal computed tomographic (CT) view established the fracture shortly after the trauma in three patients.

Arterial Vascularization of the Mandibular Condyle and Fractures of the Condyle
Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, 2018Background: Despite substantial displacements, fractures of the mandibular condyle rarely lead to necrosis. This illustrates the negligible role of the inferior alveolar artery in intraosseous supply to the condyle, and led to this systematization of its arterial vascularization. Methods:

The problem of the bifid mandibular condyle
Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 1990In a survey of 1,882 prehistoric and historic skulls with 2,077 condyles, 7 double (bifid) mandibular condyles were found. One mandible with bilaterally bifid condyles is presented in detail. Possible causes and consequences of the anomaly are discussed.

Eosinophilic granuloma of the mandibular condyle
British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 1988An extremely rare location for eosinophilic granuloma of bone in the mandibular condyle has been described, illustrating the difficulties of diagnosis. Excision and reconstruction with a costochondral graft was successfully undertaken and remodelling of the graft occurred with the formation of a new condylar head.

Complications of mandibular condyle fractures
International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 1998Whether they are treated surgically or nonsurgically, complications occur after the treatment of condylar fractures. Because most of the literature concerns the nonsurgical treatment of condylar fractures, our knowledge of complications for these cases is much greater than our knowledge of the complications that accompany the surgical treatment of ...
