Mandibular First Molar with Four Distal Canals
Journal of Endodontics, 2007A mandibular first molar with more than four canals is an interesting example of anatomic variations, especially when four of these canals are located in distal roots. This report describes a case of a mandibular first molar with six canals (two mesial and four distal canals in two distal roots).

Mandibular First Molar with Six Separate Canals
Journal of Endodontics, 2011Many anatomical variations can occur within the mandibular first molar. Commonly, 3-4 canals are located, but as many as 6-7 canals have been reported. This report describes a case of a mandibular first molar with 6 separate canals (3 mesial and 3 distal) that was instrumented with conventional hand and rotary files and obturated by using a hybrid warm ...

Five root canals in a mandibular first molar
Dental Traumatology, 1986Abstract Endodontic therapy was performed in a mandibular first molar with 5 root canals, 3 of which were located in 3 distal roots. The existence of 3 distal root canals was assumed after careful reading of radiographs. Two of the distal root canals were close to one another and located buccally to the midline.

Mandibular first molar with three distal root canals
International Endodontic Journal, 2000AbstractCase reportA right mandibular first molar requiring root canal treatment was found to have one mesial and two distal roots and a total of five canals. The mesial and distobuccal root had two separate canals; the distolingual root had one. This case demonstrates a rare anatomical configuration and supplements previous reports of the existence of

Mandibular first molar with three distal canals
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1984A mandibular molar requiring root canal therapy was found with five canals, a mesial root, and two distal roots. The distobuccal root had two separate canals, and the distolingual root had but one. The bizarre aspects of this case are somewhat lessened because of the presence of the second distal root.

Mandibular first molars with six root canals
Journal of Endodontics, 1985In this study we present two cases that demonstrate anatomical variations in the mesial and distal roots of two mandibular first molars with a discussion of some endodontic considerations. Both cases were discovered in the course of routine endodontic treatment and have three canals in the mesial and distal roots.

Mandibular first molars with multiple mesial canals
Journal of Endodontics, 1994Three clinical cases are presented in which the mandibular first molars proved to contain an extra canal in the mesial root.

Treatment of ankylosed mandibular first permanent molar
American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, 2008This report describes the treatment of a 21-year old patient with an ankylosed mandibular right first permanent molar. The tooth was noticeably infraoccluded when the patient was first seen, at age 9. Over the next 11 years, several interventions, as well as periods of observation, were undertaken to bring the infraoccluded tooth into occlusion.

Endodontic treatment of the mandibular first molar
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1957Summary Four cases of acute dentoalveolar abscess of the mandibular first molar tooth in youthful patients are presented. A chart of pertinent symptoms (Fig. 2) is included to facilitate an overall case evaluation. Each case presented was considered to have a hopeless or questionable prognosis at the time of treatment.

Third molars often become impacted because of lack of space for their eruption. Because the third molars play an important role occlusally, premolars or second molars are sometimes extracted to create space. First molars are seldom extracted to create space, but they are occasionally extracted for other reasons, especially caries. The aim of this study
