The effects of Mandibular Osteotomy on articulation and resonance

Pre- and post-operative speech samples were studied in nine adult cases who received Mandibular Osteotomy. Lateral cephalograms were taken during sustained production of selected sounds and trained listeners judged recordings. In most cases there was an improvement in the general quality of the speech.
