Postnatal Development of the Perirhinal and Parahippocampal Cortices: A Stereological Study in Macaque Monkeys

open access: yesJournal of Comparative Neurology, Volume 534, Issue 1, January 2026.
Volumetric data reveal a late maturation of areas 36r and 36c compared to areas 35, TF, and TH, as well as a tendency for superficial layers in areas 36r and 36c to mature earlier than the deep layers. Neuronal soma size exhibits a transient increase at 6 months of age in most subdivisions.

Evaluation of Living Liver Donors Using Dual‐Contrast‐Agent Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Cholangiopancreatography (MRCP)—Technical Development

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Volume 63, Issue 1, Page 9-21, January 2026.
ABSTRACT The indications for liver transplantation continue to expand to meet the growing need of patients with end‐stage liver disease and select hepatic malignancies. Living donor liver transplantation allows for access to transplant with recipient outcomes superior to deceased donor liver transplantation.

Summary from the 2025 International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine workshop on body MRI: Unsolved problems and unmet needs

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 95, Issue 1, Page 74-85, January 2026.
Abstract In March of 2025, 145 attendees convened at the Hub for Clinical Collaboration of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for the inaugural International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) Body MRI Study Group workshop entitled “Body MRI: Unsolved Problems and Unmet Needs.” Approximately 24% of the attendees were MD or MD/PhD's,

Multi‐Species Energy‐Banded Ions in the Ionosphere During the 21 January 2005 Magnetic Storm: Low‐Altitude Edge of the Warm Plasma Cloak

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 131, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract During the 21–22 January 2005 magnetic storm, the FAST satellite observed warm (< few keV) ions in discrete energy bands on the dayside at ∼3,000 km altitude for more than 6.5 hr. We suggest that the ionospheric energy‐banded ions represent the low‐altitude edge of the warm plasma cloak observed simultaneously by magnetospheric satellites ...

Three Drivers of 21st‐Century Changes in Ocean Tides

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, Volume 131, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Numerical model simulations are conducted to study the response of barotropic ocean tides to 21st‐century climate change, as manifested by sea level rise, increasing ocean stratification, and expanding Antarctic ice shelf cavities. Emphasis is placed on surface elevations, with projections of M2 ${\mathrm{M}}_{2}$, S2 ${\mathrm{S}}_{2}$, K1 ${\
