Mechanism and Suppression Technology of Mandrel Fiber Hydrophone Resonance Characteristics

IEEE/OES China Ocean Acoustics, 2021
The mandrel frame is the most commonly used sensitizing structure for scalar fiber hydrophones, and its material properties and structure directly affect hydrophone performance.

Axial temperature distribution optimization of mandrel for heated mandrel winding method

Journal of Reinforced Plastics and Composites, 2012
The heated mandrel winding method is a new process based on the internal heat-curing method. With the advantages of high production efficiency, good pressure resistance, and so on, the thermosetting fiber composite shell produced using the heated mandrel winding method has been used as a high-pressure shell.

Miniaturized mandrel-based fiber optic hydrophone

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2007
Fiber optic hydrophones typically use a long sensor fiber wrapped around an air-filled mandrel to achieve high responsivity. Minimum mandrel diameter is determined by fiber reliability considerations. A miniature hydrophone, with diameter of about a third that of previous hydrophones, is reported.

Friction coefficient between rolling tube and mandrel of full floating mandrel mill

Journal of Iron and Steel Research International, 2009
Abstract In the process of steel tube production, continuous tube rolling is the foremost forming procedure and the critical step that decides the dimension precision and the surface quality. In the actual production of the ϕ140 mm full floating mandrel mill in Steel Tube Branch in Baosteel, steel T91 was chosen to be the typical sample, self-made ...

Pipe profiling by mandrels

Russian Engineering Research, 2015
The expansion of complex six-lobe pipe by means of mandrels is studied by finite-element simulation. Such pipe is used in the repair of oil boreholes. The mandrel configuration is determined on the basis of the damage to the pipe being repaired. Recommendations are made regarding the selection of the mandrel shape.

Reusable shape memory polymer mandrels

SPIE Proceedings, 2005
Cornerstone Research Group, Inc. (CRG) has recently demonstrated the feasibility of filament winding complex compound-curved composite shapes on shape memory polymer (SMP) mandrels. Under thermal stimuli, SMPs can exhibit a radical change from a rigid polymer to a flexible, elastic state, and then back to a rigid state again.
