Chemoselective Oxyfunctionalization of Functionalized Benzylic Compounds with a Manganese Catalyst
AbstractWhilst allowing for easy access to synthetically versatile motifs and for modification of bioactive molecules, the chemoselective benzylic oxidation reactions of functionalized alkyl arenes remain challenging. Reported in this study is a new non‐heme Mn catalyst stabilized by a bipiperidine‐based tetradentate ligand, which enables methylene ...

Structure, electric and magnetic properties of the electron-doped manganese oxide: La{sub(1-x)}Te{sub(x)}MnO{sub(3)}(x=0.1, 0.15) [PDF]
In this letter, the electrical and magnetic properties of La{sub(1-x)}Te{sub(x)}MnO{sub(3)}(x=0.1, 0.15), which is a new material and shows good colossal magnetoresistance (CMR) behavior, have been investigated. These compounds have rhombohedral structure. In this materical, Te replaced a part of La ions, which induced the lattice cell constriction and

Direct observation of electron doping in La0.7Ce0.3MnO3 using x-ray absorption spectroscopy
We report on a X-ray absorption spectroscopic (XAS) study on a thin film of La0.7Ce0.3MnO3, a manganite which was previously only speculated to be an electron doped system.

Loss of proton‐sensing GPR4 reduces tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer
G protein‐coupled receptor 4 (GPR4) is a pH‐sensing receptor activated by acidic pH. GPR4 expression is increased in patients with inflammatory bowel disease who are at high risk of developing colorectal cancer. In mouse models, loss of GPR4 attenuated tumor progression. This correlated with increased IL2 and natural killer cell activity.

A study on the beneficiation ability of manganese-containing technogenic raw materials
The work presents the results of studies on obtaining ferromanganese concentrate from technogenic manganesecontaining raw materials with grain size less than 10 mm. It is found that the main valuable minerals of the feedstock are psilomelane, pyrolusite,

Absence of Ferromagnetism in Mn-doped Tetragonal Zirconia
In a recent letter, it has been predicted within first principle studies that Mn-doped ZrO2 compounds could be good candidate for spintronics application because expected to exhibit ferromagnetism far beyond room temperature.

Non‐thermal plasma treatment of melanoma cells induced epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in a dose‐dependent fashion. This report highlights the critical need to further investigate potential adverse effects of non‐thermal plasma for cancer therapy and to optimize treatment parameters for clinical translation. Despite the promising results of non‐

Field-Induced Magnetization Steps in Intermetallic Compounds and Manganese Oxides: The Martensitic Scenario [PDF]
Field-induced magnetization jumps with similar characteristics are observed at low temperature for the intermetallic germanide Gd5Ge4and the mixed-valent manganite Pr0.6Ca0.4Mn0.96Ga0.04O3. We report that the field location -and even the existence- of these jumps depends critically on the magnetic field sweep rate used to record the data.
