Crystalline symmetry controlled magnetic switching in epitaxial (111) La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 thin films
Mixed-valence manganite thin films are attractive for spintronic devices. Crystalline orientation is a promising route to tailor switching mechanisms, as magnetization reversal depends on the magnetic anisotropy.

Phase Diagrams and Piezoelectric Properties of Wurtzite Al1−x−yScxGdyN Heterostructural Alloys
This study demonstrates ferroelectricity and piezoelectric properties improvement of quaternary wurtzite Al1−x−yScxGdyN${\rm Al}_{1-x-y}{\rm Sc}_x{\rm Gd}_y{\rm N}$ films, guided by density functional theory calculations. Wurtzite Al1−x−yScxGdyN${\rm Al}_{1-x-y}{\rm Sc}_x{\rm Gd}_y{\rm N}$ films have a high optical bandgap, enhanced piezoelectric ...

Structural and magnetic properties of thin manganite films grown on silicon substrates
Polycrystalline La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 manganite thin films were grown on silicon substrates covered by SiOx amorphous native oxide. Unusual splitting of the manganite layer was found: on the top of an intermediate layer characterised by lower crystalline order,

Multiferroic order parameters – polarization, magnetization, and ferroelastic strain – are positioned as dynamic design variables for batteries. Their mechanistic roles, practical tuning through fabrication and external fields, and ferroic‐resolved characterization routes are unified into a closed‐loop framework, revealing how coupled ferroic responses

Visible range colossal magnetorefractive effect in (La1 − y Pr y )2/3Ca1/3MnO3 films
We report a colossal magnetorefractive effect (MRE) in epitaxial thin films of a classical colossal magnetoresistance (CMR) manganite, (La _1 − _y Pr _y ) _2/3 Ca _1/3 MnO _3 ( y = 0.375 and 0.7).

Substrate effect on the magnetic behavior of manganite films [PDF]
The film thickness (t) dependence of the magnetic properties of La0.6Sr0.4MnO3 (LSMO) films grown on (001) MgO and (001) SrTiO3 substrates has been studied. Hysteresis loops measured at low temperature show a smooth increase of the retentivity accompanied by a decrease of the coercitive field as the film thickness increases.

Advancing Energy Materials by In Situ Atomic Scale Methods
Progress in in situ atomic scale methods leads to an improved understanding of new and advanced energy materials, where a local understanding of complex, inhomogeneous systems or interfaces down to the atomic scale and quantum level is required. Topics from photovoltaics, dissipation losses, phase transitions, and chemical energy conversion are ...
