Viscosity of Trachytic Melt Constrained by Integrated Rheological and In Situ Spectroscopic Analyses: Insights From the Agnano‐Monte Spina Eruption (Campi Flegrei, Italy)

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 131, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Quantifying the viscosity of hydrous volcanic melts is essential for understanding ascent dynamics, degassing efficiency, and fragmentation, yet laboratory measurements may be compromised by syn‐analytical evolution in melt structure at the nanoscale, thus yielding viscosity values not representative of a homogeneous melt phase.

Multi‐Objective Optimization of a Hydro‐Economic Model in an Over‐Allocated Agricultural Basin

open access: yesGroundwater, Volume 64, Issue 3, Page 278-294, May/June 2026.
Abstract Groundwater depletion for agricultural irrigation poses significant environmental and economic challenges. This study introduces a proof‐of‐concept that combines hydro‐economic modeling, scenario‐based modeling, and multi‐objective optimization to manage pumping curtailment in an over‐allocated basin in the western United States.

Stem microanatomical phenomic uncovers a potential role for ZmLSM2 in regulating maize stem bending strength

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, Volume 68, Issue 5, Page 1271-1289, May 2026.
Maize ZmLSM2 (U6 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein specific Sm‐like 2) controls maize stem strength by affecting vascular bundle structure. Using advanced computed tomography imaging and artificial intelligence identified key stem traits linked to lodging resistance and developed a predictive model.

Haplotype‐Based Analysis of OCA2 Variants in Oculocutaneous Albinism

open access: yesPigment Cell &Melanoma Research, Volume 39, Issue 3, May 2026.
This study defines multi‐allele haplotypes, comprised of rare disease variants combined with common eQTL, sQTL and GWAS variants, for oculocutaneous albinism type 2 (OCA2). These haplotypes have implications for variant pathogenicity assessments and phenotypic variability.
