We used pattern recognition software to correct misidentifications in a 15‐year photographic database of the last, vulnerable West African giraffe population in Niger. After revealing substantial methodological errors that had inflated population estimates by nearly 19%, we corrected individual encounter histories and applied capture‐mark‐recapture ...

Cryopreservation of mango (Mangifera indica L.) embryogenic cultures.
Three techniques were compared for cryopreserving embryogenic masses (EMs) sampled from mango (Mangifera indica L.) cv. Zihua embryogenic cultures: (i) encapsulation/dehydration; (ii) pregrowth/dehydration; and (iii) vitrification. In all experiments, EMs were sampled from embryogenic cultures during their exponential growth phase and pretreated for 24

Three molecular profiles identified among Art v 1/Amb a 4‐sensitized patients: Art v 1 monosensitization, Amb a 4 monosensitization, and dual sensitization to both allergens. Art v 1 monosensitization was predominantly associated with allergic rhinitis, reflecting a classical airborne allergy pattern.

Using acoustic surveys, we investigated habitat use and diel activity patterns of insectivorous bats across the main land‐use types of the endemic‐rich Príncipe Island, in Central West Africa. We sampled bat activity at 48 sites spanning old‐growth forests, secondary regrowth forests, shaded cocoa plantations, and horticultural areas.

The complete plastome sequences of Mangifera indica L. (Anacardiaceae) [PDF]
In this study, we determined the complete plastome sequence of Mangifera indica L. (Anacardiaceae) (NCBI acc. no. KX871231). The complete plastome is 157,780 bp in length, and consists of a large single copy of 86,673 bp and a small single copy of 18,349 bp, separated by two inverted repeats of 25,792 bp.
