Whole-genome sequencing, de novo assembly and comparative analyses of Manis Javanica and Manis Pentadactyla / Ranjeev Hari [PDF]
Pangolins are unique mammals with scales over most of their body and they have no teeth, have poor vision, and an acute olfactory system. Pangolins comprise the only placental order (Pholidota) whose genomes have not been completely sequenced. The living

Burrow Selection by Temminck's Ground Pangolins (Smutsia temminckii) in Northern Botswana
ABSTRACT In arid and semi‐arid environments, many species use underground burrows for thermoregulation, reproduction, and to reduce predation risk. In Botswana, Temminck's ground pangolins (Smutsia temminckii) shelter in burrows during the day, and burrow density is thought to be a key indicator of habitat suitability for these animals.

Over the past few years, the increase in human–leopard interactions in the Kathmandu Valley has raised concerns about the rise in human–leopard conflicts. This study highlights key factors, such as canopy cover, the human influence index, slope, and proximity to water bodies that influence human–leopard conflict.

Caraguatypotherium munozi displays a distinctive morphofunctional configuration combining high wrist flexor leverage with reduced elbow mechanical advantage—traits consistent with wrist‐dominated scratch‐digging. Multivariate analyses place it outside the core morphospaces of extant locomotor groups.

ABSTRACT Aim Islands are regarded as ideal ecosystems for exploring biodiversity patterns. However, numerous islands have also suffered large numbers of species extinctions due to human activities. The extent to which such species extinctions have influenced our ability to understand biodiversity patterns, particularly the factors regulating island ...
