Combination Versus Monotherapy in Acute Anti‐LGI1 Encephalitis: A Real‐World Dose Optimization Analysis

open access: yesNeuropsychopharmacology Reports, Volume 46, Issue 2, June 2026.
Combined IVIg and 500 mg/day IVMP achieve superior efficacy over monotherapies in anti‐LGI1 encephalitis, with optimal safety. Higher‐dose IVMP (1000 mg) accelerates response but increases adverse events, particularly in diabetic patients. Cognitive deficits persist post‐treatment, necessitating long‐term management.

Detecting Land Use Change Impacts on Streamflow by Combining Field Data and Water Balance Modelling

open access: yesJAWRA Journal of the American Water Resources Association, Volume 62, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Over the last half‐century, land use changes, including deforestation, urban sprawl, and open‐pit surface mining, have accelerated across the Susurluk Basin in northwestern Türkiye. This study analysed how land use changes, damming and mining activities affected basin hydrology using empirical and analytical methods and the process‐based Water

Coral Reefs in the Indonesian Seas Threatened by Heat and Cold Stress

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 9, -Not available-.
Abstract Heat accumulation and rising sea surface temperatures (SST) are currently major stressors for coral reefs worldwide. Coral reefs are also impacted by cool SST anomalies, although the dynamics of cold stress events are less well understood. Here, we estimate coral bleaching metrics in the Indonesian Seas using a high‐spatial‐temporal‐resolution

Prevalent Greening Conceals the Forgone Ecological Potential of Forest Loss in Southeast Asia

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 9, -Not available-.
Abstract Across Southeast Asia (SEA), rapid land‐use transformations have extensively replaced natural forests with fragmented plantations and agricultural mosaics. However, quantifying the ecological legacy of this transformation is hindered by persistent cloud cover and the confounding signal of vegetation growth driven by concurrent environmental ...

Historical Irrigation Expansion Has Substantially Mitigated Spring Heat Stress in North China Plain

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 9, -Not available-.
Abstract Since the 1950s, global irrigated areas have expanded dramatically, with complex effects on regional climate worldwide. Although the North China Plain (NCP) is among the most intensively irrigated regions in the world, the effects of irrigation expansion on heat stress over the past multidecadal timescale remain poorly understood.

Record‐Breaking Marine Heatwaves Across Global Coral Reefs in 2024

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 9, -Not available-.
Abstract The record‐breaking annual mean global sea surface temperature in 2024 fueled extensive marine heatwaves (MHWs) across global coral reef zones, yet their spatiotemporal characteristics have not been comprehensively quantified. Here, we show that during the 2024 warm‐season, MHW total days and cumulative intensity exceeded the historical mean ...
