Central Diabetes Insipidus and Brain Herniation Secondary to Cryptococcal Meningitis in a Dog

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
Patient CSF cytology consistent with Cryptococcus fungal infection with eosinophilic inflammation. ABSTRACT Central diabetes insipidus (CDI) should be considered in neurologic patients with persistent polyuria and rising sodium concentrations despite appropriate fluid therapy. Earlier recognition, serial urine concentration monitoring, and desmopressin

Chiral (Stereoselective) Drugs, Asymmetric Synthesis, and Racemic Resolution Methods

open access: yesChirality, Volume 38, Issue 7, July 2026.
Chirality is crucial in drug development since both biological targets in the organism and the majority of pharmaceutical compounds are chiral. The synthesis and resolution of chiral compounds are critical steps while developing chiral drugs. Asymmetric synthesis and racemic resolution are the two most common methods for obtaining enantiopure drugs ...

Icariin Alleviates Diabetes‐Associated Cognitive Dysfunction Through Modulation of LCN2–MEK/ERK Signaling‐Associated Neuroinflammation

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 7, July 2026.
Icariin protects against diabetes‐associated cognitive dysfunction by effectively inhibiting the LCN2–MEK/ERK axis and alleviating neuroinflammation. These findings demonstrate that targeting this signaling pathway with icariin may offer a promising strategy for treating cognitive impairment in diabetes. ABSTRACT Objective Diabetes‐associated cognitive

Mex‐3 RNA‐binding family member A limits macrophage ferroptosis‐associated injury linked to the SLC7A11/GPX4 pathway in diabetic atherosclerosis

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 7, July 2026.
Diabetes reduces macrophage MEX3A and aggravates atherosclerotic plaque instability. MEX3A stabilises Slc7a11 and Gpx4 mRNAs to sustain SLC7A11/GPX4 antioxidant defence. MEX3A deficiency promotes macrophage ferroptosis, lipid peroxidation and mitochondrial injury. Ferrostatin‐1 partially attenuates ferroptotic injury and diabetic plaque destabilisation.

Bovine Milk–Derived Extracellular Vesicles as Emerging Drug Delivery Platforms: Current Advances, Applications and Challenges

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Biology, Volume 5, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are nanosized lipid bilayer particles naturally secreted by cells, mediating intercellular communication and transporting diverse bioactive molecules. Among alternative EV sources, bovine milk‐derived EVs (BMEVs) have emerged as promising platforms for drug delivery due to their accessibility, scalability ...
