Magnetic Field Driven Microrobot Based on Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Hydrogel‐based magnetic microrobots synergize remote magnetic control with the biocompatibility of flexible hydrogels, emerging as promising tools for minimally invasive biomedicine. This enables remotely controllable, untethered navigation within complex biological microenvironments.

Problem of Stopping Vessel at the Waypoint for Full-Mission Control Autopilot [PDF]

open access: yesTransNav, 2010
The paper presents a controlling method to control vessel of a full mission autopilot at the transitional phase when vessel reduce speed from navigation speed down to manoeuvring speed while she accesses to the manoeuvring waypoint, where the vessel is ...

Probability of Ship on Collision Courses Based on the New PAW Using MMG Model and AIS Data [PDF]

open access: yesTransNav, 2015
This paper proposes an estimation method for ships on collision courses taking crash astern maneuvers based on a new potential area of water (PAW) for maneuvering. A crash astern maneuver is an emergency option a ship can take when exposed to the risk of

A comparison of particulate matter and gaseous emission factors from two large cargo vessels during manoeuvring conditions

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2019
In this study, emission factors of both particle and gaseous phases are characterised on board two large cargo vessels operating on the east coast of Australia during manoeuvring conditions.

Improving the Robustness of Visual Teach‐and‐Repeat Navigation Using Drift Error Correction and Event‐Based Vision for Low‐Light Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Visual teach‐and‐repeat (VTR) navigation allows robots to learn and follow routes without building a full metric map. We show that navigation accuracy for VTR can be improved by integrating a topological map with error‐drift correction based on stereo vision.

Manoeuvring Trials with the MUN Explorer AUV: Data Analysis and Observations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Manoeuvring trials are usually performed to determine the manoeuvring characteristics of a marine vehicle. It is through certain standard manoeuvres we evaluate the robustness, performance and limitations of the vehicle control system.

TreeSpider: In‐Canopy Exploration With Tether‐Based Aerial Modular Arms

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A tethered drone with perching arms and a 360° ring enables unprecedented maneuverability within dense forest canopies. By dynamically adjusting tether length and decoupling pitch from the frame, it navigates between branches, senses multiple trees, and interacts physically with foliage.
