A Power Formula for the Mantel–Haenszel Test for Differential Item Functioning [PDF]
Applied Psychological Measurement, 2015 The asymptotic power of the Mantel–Haenszel (MH) test for the differential item function (DIF) is derived. The formula describes the behavior of the power when the number of items is large, so that the measured latent trait can be considered as the matching variable in the MH test.

British Journal of Mathematical and Statistical Psychology, 2001 A class of Rasch model tests is proposed, all of them based on the Mantel‐Haenszel chi‐squared statistic. All tests make use of the ‘sufficient statistics’ property the Rasch model possesses. One element of our general class, the test for item bias developed by Holland and Thayer, has been discussed extensively in the psychometric literature.
