Predicting Lowermost Mantle Anisotropy Using Models of Mantle Flow
2012The presence of anisotropy in the lowermost mantle—and its absence in the rest of the lower mantle—is often attributed to the alignment of MgSiO\(_3\) post-perovskite (ppv) by the movement of dislocations along glide planes, in response to mantle flow.
