Australian clinical practice guideline: diagnosis and treatment of idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease

open access: yesInternal Medicine Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease (iMCD) is a rare condition. The pathogenesis is incompletely understood; however, interleukin‐6 (IL‐6) is a major mediator. The clinical presentation is heterogeneous, from mild constitutional symptoms to severe multi‐organ failure.

Attachment of the nemertean malacobdella arrokeana to the mantle of the geoduck panopea abbreviata and survival outside the host

open access: yes, 2009
Results of the histopathological study of mantle tissues of the commercial geoduck Panopea abbreviata hosting the nemertean Malacobdella arrokeana revealed that the normal histology of mantle tissues of the bivalve was not altered by the attachment ...

Chronic silencing of subsets of cortical layer 5 pyramidal neurons has a long‐term influence on the laminar distribution of parvalbumin interneurons and the perineuronal nets

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, Volume 246, Issue 4, Page 479-504, April 2025.
Chronic silencing of subsets of layer 5 projection neurons has distinct effects on the laminar distribution of PV interneurons and the perineuronal nets in the adult primary motor and somatosensory cortex. Abstract Neural networks are established throughout cortical development, which require the right ratios of glutamatergic and GABAergic neurons ...

Orchestrated molecular changes of proliferative, migratory‐fibrillar, synaptic, and postmigratory compartments align with precocious cortex‐type specification in the early human pallium

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
Early human cortical development is organized by transient cellular compartments that define cortical types before mature layers form. Analysis of the human fetal pallium (7.5–15 PCW) shows distinct spatiotemporal trajectories for the archicortex, mesocortex, and neocortex, with delayed but accelerated differentiation in allocortical regions.

Immunohistochemical analysis of human CD5 positive B cells: mantle cells and mantle cell lymphoma are not equivalent in terms of CD5 expression

open access: yes, 2000
CD5 is expressed by most T cells and a subset of B cells. Human CD5 positive B cells are present in fetal lymphoid tissue, their frequency decreasing with fetal age.

«Aspects of cell production in mantle tissue of Ciona intestinalis L. (Tunicata, Ascidiacea)» [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Renewal of cell population is needed in the tunic of ascidians, as the tunic cells are involved in many biological functions. Tunic cells are thought to arrive by migrating across the mantle epithelium into the tunic from the blood lacunae or the ...

Comparative Nutritional and Healthy Values of Macro- and Microelements in Edible and Non-Edible Tissues of Raw and Processed Common Octopus (Octopus vulgaris)

open access: yesFoods
The macroelement (Na, Mg, P, S, K, and Ca) and microelement (Mn, Fe, Co, Cu, Zn, As, Cd, Sn, Ba, and Pb) composition of edible (arm and mantle) and non-edible (viscera) tissues of octopus (Octopus vulgaris) was studied.
